A Fine Time 04:32
As I walk around I can see the fruits of our work about Even a fool can see that there is no fucking room for doubt I leave a trail of scum and smoke behind my paper trail And it does no good to send anything off in the mail Careless with my life I throw my trash off in the night I could not give a damn about what’s not directly in my sight When my timeline ends and my efforts are complete I won’t be able to see all the problems in the street And it's a fine time to be alive down here And it's a fine time to stay alive down here I eat my fill and then take a dump on someone's head It's easy to ignore the logic of what someone said As my every-day ends I sleep soundly in my bed Why should I notice whether or not someone else is fed People piss and moan about their futile little lives Well it's just bad luck that I'm on this and you're on that side Why should I spend my time devoted to a hopeless cause I'm not ashamed of my life so I give you no pause

I walk outside and the light stings my eyes My brain wanders and my body cries The heat conforms to me as I move through the air As other motionless people stroll by without a care Reality is an unbearable treat For the person who seeks out the ultimate feat Confronting my existence in this lonely domain It's enough to make every man go insane I hide in the dark to escape my fate I hide in the dark to escape my life I hide in the dark to escape myself I hide because the light hurts I walk inside where the light does not reach The dark and still attracts me as a leech It's effortless to be in such static surroundings And I can only hear myself resounding Some people think they can escape the light They brazenly put on the mask of what they think is right But I can see through their waxen shell And I take comfort to see that they are lost as well.

There are all sorts of people who think they're above nature They try to predict that next hurricane But just end up needing lidocane They try to engineer super vegetables and fruits To make genes hop through artificial hoops But it would be foolish to deny your animal nature It would be foolish to deny your animal nature There are all sorts of people who think they can evade nature They pretend to be smarter than a rabbit But still can't kick that heroin habit They pretend to be smarter than the average bear Yet imagine that hole in the sky is just a little tear There are all sorts of people who think they can control nature They have the audacity to believe they can bite nature without getting bitten But a wolf's wrath is greatest when smitten The audacity to believe that when we become extinct the earth will too But the earth has been and will be here longer than you.

Devoid 04:48
I’m connected to a part of me Memories of something that I have in my head Dreaming of atrocities that someone has done Haunted by the living no longer dead From them I get the strength to get along Perfect soldiers of purpose make me strong Directly from their minds I grow in me A hardened crust of humanity Devoid of what I could be Devoid of the trust in me Devoid of the you in me Devoid of a part of me Programmed by those who think they know more Unable to undo new thoughts I feel My judgment sharpened by years of steel I do not wonder about what is real I recognize you from a life’s past A part of me that’s fading fast Of love you speak I cannot see Replaced by war’s insanity

False Wisdom 04:58
Excuse me how dare I suggest Propose to take your sacred soul in jest Because of what I've seen contrary to your word You can't stand out in a believer's herd If your life is spent striving to be perfect Clean and innocent sinless morality in effect You might as well give up the ghost while you can Turn your foggy discipled head from the healing hand A drop of water turns to blood in your book A thousand men drown in shallows in your book People died because they lied in your book But was it real is it real in your book? A man confronted me about my false wisdom That i should dismiss mine and enter his kingdom I said it's not the ideals or the logic which repels It's the source of your truth which I dispell He offered me his help to cast the demons out of me To rid myself of what I was not allowed to see It seems I was proud of my earthly science book But to reject his king all it took was just one look An evil serpent gets his way in your book A jealous angel thrown to hell in your book A man dies and comes back in your book But was it real is it real in your book?

The planet is in tattered remains i heard somebody say There are one or two slimy fools on this earth who would prefer it that way If you look down upon the lay of the land you see how futile it is A fundraiser or two a regulation a ban but everyone else minding their own biz If we all are indeed a part of this land all suckling on mother nature's breast Then the world's concern should be your concern and never mind the rest Back to earth is where we all reside Back to earth is where we can confide Back to earth take comfort in your time Until you see the very last sign You can see it in the way that society churns it's daily affairs I'll put it off until tomorrow or the next day or Saturday yes that would be fair A forest is not as forgivable as your Aunt Martha Joe Betty Swain You can't see a tree until the last is gone oh what a shame Well I'm not as important or self-important as a politician or general I just add my voice to the chorus of the inevitable

about

greatFox would like to thank Bergman Broadcasting Co for the studio and PC use, and J'nnathan Jacob.

"Oxygen Nation" remix by Brayndead.

Created on the Fasttracker II mod tracker.
Vocals recorded at KSEL-FM radio, Portales, NM.

Remastered at Dreadnaut Studios, Albuquerque, NM.

The music on this album was composed entirely inside the Fasttracker 2 mod tracker DOS program in 1996. The vocals were recorded at a radio station where I worked in college, on a Shure SM7B microphone, which is why the music sounds so rough and the vocals sound so clean. Hey, I used what was available!
Cheers -- Todd
