I don’t know if you’ve noticed but something’s very wrong
I hardly hear the birds singing anymore
I’m waiting for the forest to give another breath
But we might have already heard the last one yet

After decades of ruthless continuous abuse
All our best computer models disgracefully fail
No one can predict the weather anymore
And we haven’t the faintest clue of what’s in store

We don’t have the means to see what we’ve done
We’ll never have the knowledge to fully comprehend
I fear it’s far worse than we can predict
And everything might be far beyond what we can fix

It’s always been our greatest disgrace
Our most precious lands and brilliant life
Guarded by those least willing to protect
Poached and pillaged until nothing is left

No it wouldn’t bother me because it’s what we deserve
If we alone perished by our own hands
But we’ll take everything on Earth with us as we all fall
After us there will be nothing left at all

I want to do something but I’m swaddled by fear
As I hope beyond hope that it won’t affect me here
We cannot replace what we have lost
But if we don’t do everything no matter the cost…
