Enter the land of the savages with “The Chosen”. With a piano refrain, driving tribal drums, and a grunting, snorting chorus, we immerse ourselves in barbarism and antiquity. From the burqa to the kippa; from the robes and cloaks and prayer beads, gold lacing and chalices; to the mystical fables and parables; to the archaic ideals, destructive commandments, mutilation of the body, and the enslavement of reason. Without the indoctrination of the innocent and impressionable young, these tired, anachronistic traditions would be consigned to the history books. We must abandon all of these if we are to evolve from the “chosen ones”, ostensibly favored by some supernatural power, to denounce these superstitions, embrace our essence and take our place in nature as the animals we are.
lyrics
Cut our heads off
We can’t be like the savages
Cut the heads off
We can’t look like the savages
We are special, we are ordained
We have to show we are the chosen
I just want him to
Look just like his father
I am saved so
I want him to be too
Can’t have too much pleasure
We can’t let them delight
The only worldly pleasure’s
In heaven’s splendid light
Cut our heads off
We can’t be like the savages
Cut the heads off
We can’t look like the savages
We are special, we are ordained
We have to show we are the chosen
I just want her to
Feel just like her mother
I want her to be saved
So I can be too
She can’t have too much pleasure
We can’t let her delight
The only worldly pleasure’s
In my birthing rights
Cut our heads off
We can’t be like the savages
Cut their heads off
We can’t look like the savages
We are special, we are ordained
We have to show we are the chosen
